The Youth Prevention Program provides on-site after-school and teen prevention programs for high-risk youth ages 5-18 living in Salt Lake County's low-income public housing. The after-school program uses interactive activities along with the best practice program Too Good For Drugs--after school programs. The Teen Program utilizes the curriculum from the CSAP and SAMSHA model program All Stars. These two programs promote the prevention of youth involvement in substance abuse or related high-risk activities.
In conjunction with Youth and Families with Promise (YFP), the Housing Authority of the County of Salt Lake provides mentoring to high-risk youth ages 9-15 living in Salt Lake County's low-income housing to help prevent initial involvement in and, when applicable, decrease further involvement in delinquent acts and other problem behaviors.
