Cornerstone Counseling Center, a private nonprofit human service agency, was established in 1968 and was among the first formal substance abuse programs in Utah. The Center has developed an extensive and integrated continuum of substance abuse and domestic violence treatment and prevention programs. The Center's parallel emphasis on treatment and prevention, as well as the diversity of populations served, provides a broad perspective and comprehensive knowledge base for understanding and intervening effectively in substance abuse and domestic violence problems.

The following projects represent a continuum of drug and violence prevention services offered to students as they progress from elementary through junior high school. Programs are based on a thorough research of current literature. Prevention interventions are provided which address developmental, environmental, and social factors appropriate for each age level and are carefully evaluated to assess their effectiveness.
