Chris Bray, Executive Director
The Children“s Service Society's Grandfamilies program provides services to families that are providing kinship placements to a related child. This relationship may be aunt, uncle, grandparents or sibling. We have three programs to address these family's needs:
Friend 2 Friend
is a support group that meets monthly to address issues these families are facing and to provide emotional support, psychological support and to provide referrals to community resources. Family activities also occur monthly as part of this program.
Grandfamilies Class
is a twelve-week psycho-educational group that addresses topics such as mental illness, loss and grief, legal issues surrounding guardianship, custody and adoption, and parenting two generations.
Heart Works
is a clinical program that addresses the mental health problems facing children and other family members in kinship care or foster care and all who face loss and grief issues. Individual child and adult therapy as well as family therapy are offered.
